Another royal wedding is around the corner. The wedding of Princess Beatrice to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi is in the pipeline and a stream of important questions need to be addressed—will Kate Middleton or Meghan Markle don the role of a bridesmaid for Princess Beatrice? Will Princess Beatrice have a royal wedding as exuberant as the Duchesses?
While Princess Beatrice hasn’t divulged details of sorts, here’s a peek into what a royal wedding ideally entails.
Royal weddings don’t make any room for bridesmaids and groomsmen
As per popular reports, it is very unlikely to have either of the Duchesses to play the part. Royal weddings don’t require adult Maid of Honor or a Best Man. In all likelihood, Princess Eugenie might become the Maid of Honor sans any bridesmaids. Their exclusion could also be attributed to the fact that it would seem inappropriate to have Kate Middleton -- who will be Queen Consort one day -- to follow a commoner or a royal subordinate -- in the case of Princess Beatrice -- down the aisle.
The royal party protocol
Meghan Markle’s bridal party comprised of kids, including her niece and nephew—Princess Charlotte and Prince George and three of her best friend’s kids. Kate Middleton, for her part, asked her sister Pippa to don the role of a Maid of Honor and she was the only adult female at the party.
Similarly, Prince Harry donned the role of the Best Man at Prince William’s party. Meghan Markle didn’t go for a Maid of Honor and chose to follow the tradition with only children at the Bridal party. Whereas when Princess Eugenie got hitched, she zeroed in on Princess Beatrice as the Maid of Honor. Thus, it is likely that the roles will be exchanged and Princess Eugenie will play the role of the Maid Of Honor.
It’s been a year since Princess Eugenie got married to Jack Brooksbank. The couple exchanged vows at St. George’s Chapel within the grounds of Windsor Castle on Oct. 12, 2018. The next in line is Princess Beatrice.
The Duke and Duchess of York were delighted to announce the engagement of Princess Beatrice to Mr. Edoardo Mappeli Mozzi on the Royal Family’s official social media account. The royal couple got engaged earlier this month in Italy. The wedding will take place in 2020.
