“Big Little Lies” Season 2 is still airing on HBO. But one cast member is already hoping for a third season renewal.

Actor James Tupper recently told Collider that he would be more than willing to reprise his role as Nathan Carlson in the hit HBO drama next year. Tupper also said that he will still be on board for the project even if other opportunities would also come his way.

“So, I’m thinking about that, for next season,” he said. “And then, hopefully, there will be a third season of ‘Big Little Lies.’ The show is so hot right now, it would be fun,” Tupper added.

“Big Little Lies” Season 2 gained more buzz after it was announced that award-winning actress Meryl Streep has been cast in the project. So one of the ways to ensure the future of Season 3 is to tap another A-lister to join the cast.

When asked which actress he has in mind, Tupper dropped the name of Charlize Theron. “Who are we gonna get? We’d have to get someone big. Oh, my God, you can’t add another woman to this cast,” he joked.

But Tupper also said that he has enjoyed working with his mostly female co-stars. He also said that some people ask him if he gets intimated working with strong female actresses like Laura Dern, Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and more.

“I’m like, ‘No, I’m thrilled. I’m a strong dude. I’m thrilled to work with someone who knows what the heck they’re doing and brings a lot of cool, fun stuff to play with,’” Tupper shared. “And they’re all fantastic. Everybody is very special.”

Last year, Kidman also told Variety that she’s open to returning to a possible third season for “Big Little Lies.” However, the Australian actress also said that it would be hard to get the entire cast together because everyone is busy with their other projects.

“Big Little Lies” Season 2 also stars Zoe Kravitz, Shailene Woodley, Alexander Skarsgard, Adam Scott, Kathryn Newton and more. New episodes are released every Sunday on HBO.
