A 41-year-old man was murdered by his wife after she strangulated him using her leg following an altercation.
The deceased, identified as Mohan, was killed Tuesday, April 13, at his home in JJ Nagar in the city of Bengaluru, India.
The victim, who was working as a driver of a garbage truck, was killed by his wife, identified as Padma, after she strangulated him following a conflict between the two.
According to the city police, the couple who were married for 16 years, often engaged in altercations with each other after the man comes home drunk.
The man who was an addict was sent to a rehabilitation center and had quit drinking for a while.
On Tuesday, the couple had a fight due to reasons that were unknown at this time. During the conflict, the victim began pushing his wife to which she retaliated.
The woman pinned her husband down and then strangulated him using her leg. The man became unresponsive following which the woman with the help of few neighbors, rushed him to a nearby hospital.
He was declared dead at the hospital and the body was sent for an autopsy.
The woman was arrested, however, the charges imposed on her were unclear at this time.
The couple has three kids. It was not known where the children were when the incident happened.
This is an ongoing investigation and no further details were available at this time.

Rangaraj was murdered by his wife, 55-year-old Jothimani, and a relative, 41-year-old Raja, on Thursday, April 8, night. The victim was burnt alive inside a van. The man had sustained a fracture during an accident two weeks ago and the suspects were driving him back home from the hospital when they set the van ablaze using petrol.
According to the police, the duo murdered the man for claiming an insurance policy worth crores of rupees, which the woman had access to.
Both suspects were arrested and charged with murder.
