Selena Gomez is now 27, where has time gone? It seems like only yesterday when she was gracing people’s screens with her wisecracks and cute outfits on the Disney show, “Wizards of Waverly Place.”

Nothing says one is already an adult more than crying on one’s birthday. Children don’t cry because of their birthday, but most adults do. Case in point, Gomez cried while celebrating her birthday in Italy with her grandparents. But there is nothing to worry about, as she described them as “grateful tears.”

However, there are also reports of her looking forward to getting back to work. Hopefully, the singer-actress is not crying because she’s desperate for projects. With her caliber, she should not be in any shortage of work at all.

Posting a photo of herself in a dreamy white maxi dress and standing barefoot on a balcony overlooking the scenic Italian city while laughing at the camera, it was apparent that Justin Bieber's ex-girlfriend is quite content these days.

The greetings on her birthday must have made her realize that she’s beyond loved and cared for, making her cry.

“I wanted to thank each and every one of you for your words on my bday,” she wrote in the photo’s caption. “Not just the quick notes. The thought that goes behind every word you write usually ends up with me crying grateful tears like I did last night. Praying for all of you!! I LOVE YOU.”

Even though the young woman is quite active on her social media, her fans could have noticed she’s been absent in the music, television, and movie scene for quite some time now, or at least compared to how much she graced these platforms in the past. An insider told People magazine that the star herself is raring to go back to work. The last album she has released, “Revival,” was still in 2015, after all.

On her part, Gomez assured her fans that her hiatus might not extend further anymore. However, compared to the past, she’s becoming more careful of what she will take on.

“I feel like the next few choices that I’m gonna make are very crucial, so I’m trying to be really, really diligent and just patient with everything,” she shared to her fans earlier this year on Instagram Live. “The album is coming very soon.”

For now, she’s maximizing her stay in beautiful Rome. The “Wolves” singer was spotted this week, wearing a green maxi dress, having lunch at the famous Pierluigi with some friends and family.
