Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s plans to move to the U.S. will, reportedly, devastate Prince William and Kate Middleton. According to a royal expert, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to spend their time in the foreign country for a reason that is more important than just being able to spend the festive period with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.

Rumors about Prince Harry and Meghan possibly moving to the U.S. soon have been swirling around for weeks now. Reports have claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to leave the hustle and bustle of Britain and spend some quiet time together in the U.S., where they will spend important events like Thanksgiving with Ragland and Baby Archie.

While that sounds believable, royal expert Phil Dampier has claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might use their time in the U.S. to further their causes. According to him, the couple might take advantage of their time away to work out whether they could set up a second base in the U.S.

Dampier has revealed that Kate Middleton has been trying to help Meghan and Prince Harry to patch things up with Queen Elizabeth in private, as she wants to bring every member of the royal family back together. That is why, if Prince Harry and Meghan insist on moving to the U.S., this will, reportedly, upset both Prince William and Kate Middleton.

“It would be a disaster if Harry and Meghan quit and lived abroad—William and Kate would be devastated,” Dampier said. “Behind the scenes, I’m told Kate is doing her best to bring everyone together and help Meghan. None of them want to let the Queen down so Kate is trying to patch things up in private,” he added.

Kate reportedly phoned up Meghan after the ITV documentary to talk to her about her struggles and help her deal with them. “Catherine has told Meghan that every royal=-including herself—goes through a bad patch with the press but the important thing is to learn by mistakes, move on and get through it,” he added.

As of this writing, Prince Harry and Meghan have not yet confirmed whether the reports about their move to the U.S. are true or not. Despite that, speculations are rife that since they haven’t worked things out in Windsor, rumors of them having a second base in America might be true.
