Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra might still be newlyweds, but that does not exempt them from being the subjects of nasty rumors. Recently, an article surfaced saying that Nick is starting to get concerned about his new wife’s spending habits.

Priyanka Chopra is reportedly spending too much cash on luxury items, according to a story run by Life & Style, a celeb-focused publication. “Nick and Priyanka have plenty of money,” the article cited an unnamed insider. “It’s just that he comes from a middle-class family — dad was a preacher and mom was a teacher — and she loves to splurge.”

The report also hinted that Chopra’s spending habits is a potential future cause of trouble for their marriage. “Priyanka was spending money on luxe items long before she met Nick and she’ll continue to do so,” the source added.

However, not everyone believed the rumor. Fact-checking site Gossip Cop did a little sleuthing and has already debunked the story.

Priyanka Chopra’s spokesperson told Gossip Cop that the story is “false.” In addition, the rep confirmed that the couple is not fighting over money matters.

And facts speak for themselves. For instance, Nick Jonas is more than happy to splurge on his wife and even bought her a Mercedes-Maybach just last week to celebrate his single “Sucker” becoming number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Meanwhile, Chopra promptly posted a photo of her and Nick celebrating with champagne and with the $200,000 car at the background. “When the hubby goes number one ... the wifey gets a @maybach!!,” Priyanka captioned the post. The expensive gift certainly shows that Nick isn’t stingy at all when it comes to his beautiful wife.

But even if Chopra loves to splurge on luxury items, it should not be a cause of concern for Nick since she’s wealthy enough on her own. She was ranked #7 on Forbes’ list of Bollywood’s highest paid actors in 2017, with an estimated income of $10 million per year at that time.

She was earning around $4 million per season during her days with “Quantico.” Other sources of income include numerous endorsement deals, as well as various roles in Bollywood films.
