Hollywood star Ben Affleck's fans think he may be the new Benito.
He is fluent in Spanish, something that his fans got to see in an interview for a La Cadena SER. Journalist Antonia Cereijido tweeted a clip, now viral, and said, "Affleck angling to be called Benito with the recent vacancy."
In the video, the actor and filmmaker is talking about his movie "Air" and Michael Jordan's involvement in the film. Affleck explained that he wouldn't have made the movie if the athlete hadn't approved it. The film has an actor essaying the role of Jordan. But his face is not shown and has around two lines, reported Hola!
As for Spanish, Affleck learned the language when he was 13. At the time, he was living in Mexico working on a television show, so that explains why he has a Mexican accent.
His new nickname Benito comes at a time when fans are jokingly calling Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, Ben.
Bad Bunny had fans opinionated after he reportedly started dating Kendall Jenner. One Twitter user quipped that word on the street is Affleck is the "new Bad Bunny."
Affleck's wife Jennifer Lopez is also fluent in Spanish. She had said in the past that she wants to educate her children in English and Spanish.
Earlier this month, Affleck, Lopez and some of their kids were seen having a family dinner, Page Six reported.
Affleck, who was raised in Massachusetts, Lopez and three of their respective kids were seen dining at Bar Enza inside The Charles Hotel in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
A source said that Lopez's twins -- 15-year-olds Max and Emme, and Affleck's 14-year-old daughter Seraphina were present.
He also shares a daughter, Violet, 17, and son, Samuel, 11, with his former wife Jennifer Garner. But the two kids were not seen at the Italian eatery.
A source said that Affleck and Lopez's kids were "very well-behaved." The family was noticeably "smiling a lot" while having dinner.
Affleck and Lopez married in Las Vegas in July 2022 after their romance was rekindled in 2021. They previously had a failed engagement nearly 20 years ago.
