Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Sunday. On the couple’s official Instagram account, photos from their royal nuptials were uploaded.
One of the snaps featured a woman wearing a dress and fascinator handing the Duchess of Sussex her bouquet of flowers. The woman is not a member of the royal family, but she was given quite an important role at Meghan and Prince Harry’s big day.
It has now been revealed that the woman in the picture is Clara Madden, Prince Harry’s assistant. Madden, who originates from New Zealand, is in charge of project management for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The 32-year-old was also the one who kept the royal couple’s diary running smoothly during the lead up to their wedding.
In 2016, Madden made headlines after it was reported that she’s dating Nick Loughran, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s media adviser. At that time, Loughran just split from Rebecca Deacon, the Duchess of Cambridge’s right-hand woman.
Madden, who is now married to Loughran, was also a key part of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s team. During the royal couple’s trip to New Zealand in 2014, Madden’s mom said that Prince William told her that her daughter is the star of their office. One year later, Madden started working for Prince Harry.
The photos that were uploaded to commemorate Prince Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding also featured Prince Charles walking the “Suits” alum down the aisle. Another photo shows Meghan with her mom, Doria Ragland. The former Hollywood star also posed with her bridesmaids and groomsmen.
But one of the most standout photos from the batch were the ones that featured Prince Harry. In one picture, Prince Harry is looking straight into the camera while going down a flight of stairs, and he has a huge smile on his face. In the second picture, Prince Harry gives a thumbs up while standing outside St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
