Apple's iPad media event for October 22 has officially been confirmed by Apple with a beautiful invitation that teases "We still have a lot to cover." The invitation comes is just in line with Apple's trend of announcing media events to announce new and upcoming products. The event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and will begin at 10:00 AM Pacific Time. The event is rumored to be the announcement of Apple's newest iPad and iPad mini along with OS X Mavericks, updated MacBook Pros and the newly designed Mac Pro. There is a possibility Apple could announce the highly-rumored iWatch as well.
The October 22 event was first reported by AllThingsD website earlier this month, and was quickly confirmed by The Loop's Jim Dalrymple. The original report by AllThingsD claimed that Apple would focus the event around the fifth-generation iPad and second-generation iPad mini. The report also claimed the event would also discuss OS X Mavericks and the redesigned Mac Pro. Apple has been rumored to release a number of other product updates but is apparently still unclear on whether those updates will be part of the week's event.
The new fifth-generation iPad and second-generation iPad mini have been shown in multiple reports from leaked videos of the shell and front panel along with newly designed smart cases. The fifth-gen iPad is expected to take design cues from the current-generation iPad mini while the new mini is expected to get an updated screen with Retina display.
The updated MacBook Pro is expected to have an increased battery life along with the powerful Iris integrated graphics. Some other potential features for the upcoming MacBook Pros include: faster PCI express-based flash storage and a faster 802.11ac gigabit Wi-Fi.
It will be interesting to see what Apple will present at this media event so stayed tuned and we will keep you updated on all Apple news until the event.
