WhatsApp for iOS 7 is one of the most anticipated updates that iOS users are waiting for since the launch of the new mobile operating system. The messaging system is one of the most popular apps with millions of users across the globe. The mobile app allows for cross-platform messaging and uses data instead of regular text messaging rates. This not only allows iOS users to message Android users or Windows Phone users, but it also allows for international exchanges without the hefty wireless texting rates. With the release of Apple's new iOS 7 the WhatsApp application looks old and clashes with the new minimalistic look as it was made for with the design aesthetic of the previous mobile operating system in mind. Fret no more as developers have been working day and night to bring you a compatible app that will make WhatsApp look native again.
A preview of the new WhatsApp app was leaked by a German YouTuber shows the updated app with the minimalistic elements that characterize iOS 7. The flatter design has the basic menu with your Favorites, Status, Contacts, Chats and Settings. The chat tab takes cues from the native Messages app already on Apple's mobile devices with the icon being in a circle instead of the square icon with rounded edges. All in all it has the same features with a flatter design that resembles the native apps. iDownloadBlog reports that the WhatsApp up will support the new iOS 7 Background Refresh feature that keeps app content up to date in the background. The same source also claimed that we will be seeing the update before Black Friday. Watch the preview down below and tell us what you think of the update!
