William Valdés is a well-known Cuban actor and singer, who debuted in the first season of the soap opera "Grachi," in 2011. Valdés is currently a co-host on the Univision morning show "Despierta America" as the social media correspondent.
Every day during the show, we can see the blue-eyed young man sharing his favorite viral videos, humorous images or text, plus sharing entertainment news.
Lately, the presenter has been more open than ever, and during one of his confessions on March 3, he started crying inconsolably during the TV show segment "Sin Rollo Ni Tapujos." The panel, conformed at the time by entertainment correspondent Ana Patricia Gámez, clinical psychologist, sexologist, and family therapist Dr. Nancy Álvarez, television personality Marco Antonio Regil, "Sal y Pimienta" anchor and moderator Lourdes Stephen, and others, tried to make Valdés confortable inviting him to open his heart up and let his feelings out.
Stephen asked the "Despierta America" director to show on screen the post Valdés posted on his Instagram account a day before. In the same you can see an image of him laying on a bed and a message that reads: “Good morning... I'm going to be very sincere with this post, I'm always showing the best things in my life, my vacations, my outfits, my friends, my family, part of my work. But I have never shown you my weak part, perhaps because I am the kind of person who doesn’t like to be seen as weak, sad etc," Valdés wrote.
"Today I woke up feeling sad, today I got up without wanting to do anything. The reason I can't tell you now, but I don't want to be the superficial person that I sometimes feel that I am. I want to be me, and I think you are a big part of me. Today I am sad. Today I am a human being, not an artist who has to fake its feelings. TODAY I AM ME," he added.
Right after showing the photo, every member of the panel asked him what was going on and Valdés couldn’t hold it together and broke down in tears. William confessed he was sad, and feels alone for reasons he didn’t want to share on camera.
The social media savvy let clear that he is sharing his feelings because he wants people to know that he is a human, and he doesn’t care about negative comments. He also said he sees his followers as family and every single positive message he got after he posted the photo, helped him in that specific time.
He invited to all the community to be true to themselves on Instagram and put aside superficiality.
