Have you watched every film released in 2013? Well, of course you haven’t, mostly because it isn’t yet over and there are just so many! But lucky for you movie addict a new trailer features every film released or set to be released this year, so while you may not be able to watch all of them in their entirety, you can catch a small snippet at least! A savvy Tumblr and YouTube user has created an all new video in terms of the “mash up” idea, rivaling the concept popularized by DJ Earworm and his yearly “United State of Pop” mash ups, The Sleepy Skunk has created the “2013 Movie Trailer Mashup.” And for people obsessed with movies, like myself, it is 6 minutes and 45 seconds of your life that you will not miss.
The video which is broken up into three distinct parts, “PRIMA PARTE: THE PURGE,” “SECONDA PARTE: THE WORLD’S END” and “PARTE FINALE: THE FIFTH ESTATE.” All three parts possess unique and emotional themes, the themes are set to Jay Z's "Brooklyn Go Hard," Swedish House Mafia's "Save The World" and a cue from François Paul Aïche, respectively. The video mash up truly does encompass all the movies of 2013, impressively including 324 different movie titles in 1-sec clips. The expansive list reaches all the way back to January's "Texas Chainsaw 3D" all the way up to "The Wolf of Wall Street," which doesn't hit theaters until December 25, 2013.
While the video is impressive on its own, the sheer amount of movies made this year is astonishing. And after watching the trailer, I am on a mission to watch every single one. With blockbuster hits like “Hunger Games: Catching Fire” and “12 Years A Slave” showcased multiple times, lesser-known works such as “Berberian Sound Studio” and “God Loves Uganda” make a notable impact. A true celebration of all that is great about films, I enjoyed watching this video, check it out below and be sure to read The Sleepy Skunk’s Tumblr to see the full list of all the movie trailers included. Oh and by the way, the adorable and hilarious minions of “Despicable Me 2” made the cut, which makes it an instant classic in my book.
