Ricky Martin sizzled with his musical number at the Billboard Music Awards 2014! The bom bom shaker presented "Vida," the hit song that is part of the official soundtrack to the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Martin has had a great year with "Adrenalina" making its debut on the Hot Latin Songs Billboard list at No. 11. Martin has previously won Billboard accolades in the Top New Latin Artist (1993), Hot 100 Singles Artist of The Year and Male Artist of The year in 1999. Watch the hot performance down below! Also causing a splash on stage was Michael Jackson's hologram to the tune of "Slave To The Rhythm." The amazing visual effect had the audience astounded at what they were seeing. Shakira also smashed the hot night with her performance of "Empire," a tune off of her self-titled album. The Latin infused night included J.Lo receiving a massive recognition, honoring her career in music with the Icon Award! She was the first woman to have the honor following the likes of Neil Diamond, Stevie Wonder and Prince. "Jennifer Lopez is one of the most iconic performers of her generation," said Larry Klein, producer of the award show. "We are thrilled to honor her historic career with the 2014 Icon Award and will be on the edge of our seats like everyone else when she takes the stage." Jennifer Lopez took the night away again as the singer premiered her new single "First Love" off of her upcoming studio album and will also be joined by Pitbull to perform the FIFA World Cup theme song "We Are One."
The Top Latin Artist category that will be awarded tonight as well and features Marc Anthony, Gerardo Ortiz, Jenni Rivera, Prince Royce and Romeo Santos will be competing for the win. In the Top Latin Album category the following are nominated: Marc Anthony ("3.0"), Alejandro Fernández ("Confidencias"), Jenni Rivera ("1969, Siempre: En Vivo Desde Monterrey"), Prince Royce ("Soy El Mismo") and Romeo Santos ("Fórmula: Vol. 2"). For Top Latin Song the following will be competing: Marc Anthony ("Vivir Mi Vida"), Daddy Yankee ("Limbo"), Enrique Iglesias ("Loco" featuring Romeo Santos), Prince Royce ("Darte Un Beso") and Romeo Santos ("Propuesta Indecente"). The top award of the night is Top Artist with Miley Cyrus, Imagine Dragons, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry and Justin Timberlake vying for the accolade. Every year new talent is discovered and surfaces in the music scene and Billboard awards them with the Top New Artist award. This year Bastille, Capital Cities, Ariana Grande, Lorde and Passenger are all the newbies in the category. Some of the hot tracks that are nominated will have their chance to be awarded in the Top Hot 100 Song. These are the tracks nominated: Miley Cyrus ("Wrecking Ball"), Imagine Dragons ("Radioactive"), Lorde ("Royals"), Katy Perry ("Roar") and Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell ("Blurred Lines").
