"Que Pobres Tan Ricos" ended its run in México on Sunday night with a heartfelt scene with Jaime Camil. Spoiler Alert! Spoiler Alert! The Univision hit telenovela airs a couple weeks behind the broadcast south of the border and finished off with a message of tolerance and respect. "Life is a path of learning and gifts that everyone finds as they walk along," Miguel Angel said breaking the fourth wall. "Sometimes both arrive at the same time, like the love of your life, your children which are the same if they are blood or from the soul. Love is mysterious because when it is stronger than fear and synergy, love becomes miraculous, it rejuvenates the elder and matures the young ones that bet on leaving their childhood to fulfill with the responsibilities of a couple."
"You know what is the most important thing?" he asked. "When love destroys the ego and preconceptions. Most of all in a world where all irrational hate tries to surpass reason. Most importantly, the right to be different deserves the same respect for the ones that think the same or the ones that think differently from us. We are all the same. It doesn't matter what team we root for or who we like. When we elevate our values without separating the poor from the rich and we respect each other above any difference, when we understand that being is above having, who ends up winning? Everybody!" Watch the tender monologue down below and tell us what you think!
The telenovela starring Jaime Camil and Zuria Vega airs stateside on Univision with only a couple weeks difference. In both nations, the comedy has been a hit due to its humor and hilarious characters. One of the subplots of this soap has Eugenio Derbez's son José Eduardo Derbez in a same-sex relationship with actor Diego de Erice. During the finale they both allegedly share a kiss to close off their storyline that didn't sit well with Televisa executives and ordered producer Rosy Ocampo to cut the scene. After the controversy erupted, we found out that they only held hands and there was no kiss.
