The Oscars are finally coming and we’re starting to build up our expectations and excitement now that the nominations for the major categories will be announced in just a few hours! Thursday, Jan. 16 is the day chosen to unveil which of our favorite artists will be considered to take home the coveted statue, and in true Oscar fashion, the traditional early announcement ceremony will take place at 5:38 a.m. Pacific Time, 8:38 Eastern Time.
Thankfully for us, this year there will be a live stream of the event which we’ve embedded at the bottom of this piece, so all of you early birds can be up to date with the most recent Oscar news. And if you’d rather sleep in, or if your alarm doesn’t go off, don’t you worry, that’s what we’re here for. We will publish all the nominees once they’re announced so you can get over your FOMO.
But just so you know, Chris Hemsworth is the chosen one to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president, Cheryl Boone Isaacs at the podium to present the nominees. So, you might want to double check that alarm clock. The live stream will become active at 5:30 a.m. PT, 8:30 a.m. ET although our hosts will unveil the nominations eight minutes past that time. So don’t forget to tune in tomorrow morning and scroll down to see the live stream!
