Yangervis Solarte, Venezuelan infielder for the Yankees, has been a sensation and a great add to the team. The team is grateful that Yankees management decided to keep him after his performance in spring training. He impressed them and was signed to play in the majors. He was invited to spring training but he had no idea if he would have a guaranteed spot on the roster or not.
“This is something incredible for me. I want to continue to work hard and doing what I am doing now” Solarte said. He had waited nine years for this opportunity. He was in the Twins’ farm system for seven years and the last two years in the Rangers’ farm system playing in Triple-A Round Rock. “They told me they were going to send me to the majors, but it never happened. I feel I was tricked in a way,” he said. “Definitely, his hard work has exceeded our expectations and we will take advantage of it as long as we can.” Brian Cashman, GM of the team, said.
We expect to see this player grow and develop in the majors even more than he already has. Great things lie ahead for this talented baseball player.
Today, the Venezuelan Yankees infielder will offer a press conference in Spanish. For the link to watch the press conference click here.
