While the major bout between Manny 'Pac-Man' Pacquiao and Brandon 'Bam Bam' Rios is still two days away, fans of both athletes will still have the opportunity to see what the training regiments for both fighters is like leading up to the event. Thanks to the premier cable superpower HBO, boxing fans everywhere can see the two fighters in action through the series '24/7: Pacquiao vs. Rios.' A series that takes fans behind the scenes, '24/7' is the ideal way to follow each boxer throughout their respective training regiments and the events they're involved in leading up to the November 23 fight at The Venetian Macao in Macau, China.
Manny Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38 KO) will enter the fight looking to avoid the first major drought of his stellar career. Falling in his previous two bouts to Juan Manuel Marquez and Timothy Bradley, the 34-year-old native of the Philippines looks to get back on track against a boxer looking to etch his own legacy. Brandon Rios, a 27-year-old with a career record of 31-1-1, has already posted major victories over Miguel Acosta and Mike Alvarado. Rios will also be looking to rebound after a loss and feels completely confident in his ability to earn a win over one of the best fighters the sport has ever seen.
"It's my time now," Rios said recently. "I'm not getting any younger, so why not take the opportunity. I've been fighting all my life, 20 years, since I was eight years old. If you're not ready to jump the ship and take on the next level, then you shouldn't be in the ring. I don't think I should be holding back now. You can always defeat quickness. There's ways to counter it. When I fought Acosta I did counter his punches a lot, and I practiced a lot for that quickness. There's different ways to cut the ring off in a smarter way and be prepared for that."
A victory over Pacquiao certainly won't come easy but if Rios is able to earn the win, his personal brand and fame will undoubtedly reach a level previously unknown. The first two episodes of '24/7: Pacquiao/Rios' can be found below. Episode 3 will air on Thursday, November 21 at 10:00pm, ET.
