WATCH: Los Angeles Carjacker in High-Speed Chase Appears to Mock Cops, Take Selfies While Sticking Head Out Window

Two suspected car thieves led police on a wild high-speed chase across Los Angeles County during which one of the men was spotted hanging out of the vehicle's window to snap photos and flash apparent "gang signs" at pursuing officers.

The televised pursuit began shortly after the men reportedly stole the vehicle at a gas station in Lynwood. After reportedly taking the car from its owner at gun-point, the thieves then proceeded to drive it through the Compton, Long Beach, and downtown Los Angeles areas.

When California Highway Patrol officers caught up to the car, the suspect was seen swerving recklessly between lanes. Officers also clocked the vehicle driving at speeds exceeding 90 mph without any headlights on.

At one point, an individual was spotted by an overhead TV chopper sticking his body out of the passenger side window to seemingly mock patrol units approaching from the rear. The man appeared to be taking selfies with a cellphone and signaling something with his hands, believed by a Fox 11 News reporter to be "gang signs."

The vehicle came to a slow roll on the 710 Freeway in Compton after sustaining severe tire damage due to police intervention. Instead of backing down however, the suspects quickly jumped out of the car and ran down an embankment on the side of the highway.

The first individual to be restrained by officers was the passenger. The driver was initially elusive, but he was eventually located and placed under arrest along with his co-conspirator.
