Tonight on NBC join the cast of "Law and Order: SVU" as they prepare to say goodbye to detective John Munch (Richard Belzer). For 15-years detective Munch has been a vital part Of the SVU team. Always an advocate for justice Munch has kept viewers entertained with his sarcastic humor and conspiracy theories. Viewers also saw the soft side of John Munch when he would become close to the victims he was trying to help. The audience saw him help battered women, advocate for abused children and encourage people to live despite what seemed to be grim circumstances.
Tonight at 9pm EDT viewers will see detective Munch walk through the doors of the SVU squad room one last time. In the episode titled "Wonderland Story" SVU will have their hands full dealing with a past victim, Sarah Walsh. Having previously handled her rape case detective Benson is surprised to hear that the woman believes she has been assaulted again. Sarah's rapist has still not been captured and the woman believes she was assaulted by the same man from her attack two years ago.
While investigating Sarah's case the detectives will come across a charming cyber genius who is preying on young vulnerable women and then paying them for their silence. Things aren't always what they seem on "SVU" and in a promo for tonight's episode we see Benson speaking in an interview room telling someone "we don't think that that's what happened." What could Olivia be talking about? No matter the outcome of the case the SUV detectives will join up at the conclusion of the episode to say goodbye to John Munch.
In the goodbye scenes we will see a number of NYPD officers gathered together in order to honor their retiring friend. "You had one hell of a run," Captain Cragen says to Munch in a clip from tonight's episode. All the people who knew and worked with Munch will get up and say a little something to honor their colleague. We see an emotional Olivia choke up as she says "I will miss you John Munch." Munch's longtime partner, Fin is seated near John while Olivia is talking.
No doubt Fin will have something heartfelt to say to his partner as he leaves. There will likely be a few well-meaning jabs tossed in Munch's direction before he leaves. Fin will likely bring up the incident in which Munch was shot in his backside in order to get a good chuckle out of his buddy. Tune in to NBC tonight for an all new "Law and Order: SVU" and say so-long to detective Munch!
