A woman from Thailand set her ex-boyfriend’s scooter on fire after he reportedly refused to get back with her. The incident was caught on a surveillance camera and has gone viral after it hit the internet.

In the video, 36-year-old Kanok Wan is setting the Triumph scooter on fire to get her revenge on her ex-boyfriend. Reportedly, Wan had gifted the one million Baht (31270 USD) worth of scooter to her boyfriend when they were in a relationship.

The incident happened on June 21, in the parking lot of a school in Bangkok, police said.

A surveillance camera captured Wan approaching the scooter which was parked next to a few other motorcycles with a can of gasoline. She then pours it on the two-wheeler and sets it ablaze.

The fire quickly spreads and Wan rushes away as the flames almost engulf her. Another camera showed her getting into a taxi and fleeing the scene.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and extinguished the fire within 10 minutes. No injuries were reported, however, six other two-wheelers parked nearby were destroyed by the fire.

"We were informed of the fire incident on the third floor of the parking building inside Srinakharinwirot University Prasarnmit Demonstration School. The building was connected to the elementary level wing of the school but no one was hurt because the students were on an online class arrangement due to the pandemic," LAD Bible quoted Thonglor police officer Mongkut Thanomjai as saying.

Investigators examined the CCTV visuals and identified the woman as the ex-girlfriend of a school employee. Bangkok South Criminal Court issued a warrant and Wan was arrested from her home on June 23, without incident.

"She wanted to take revenge on the school officer by burning the motorcycle which was a gift for him. The cause was emotional, she was angry," Thanomjai said.

The officer added that the incident is being investigated. Wan is being questioned on charges of arson.

The video which was shared on Youtube has gained over 33,000 views so far.
