Princess Diana has been dead for over two decades, but some royal fans still haven’t gotten over the fact that she’s no longer around. In fact, some of them are still blaming Prince Charles for what happened to the Princess of Wales.
One royal fan asked if Prince Charles is the one who should be blamed for Princess Diana’s sudden demise. Deanna Eppers, who enjoys visiting the United Kingdom, said that her answer to the question is both a yes and a no.
The royal fan said that Princess Diana didn’t wear her seatbelt on the night of the car crash, which also killed her then-boyfriend Dodi Al Fayed. It wasn’t Prince Charles’ fault that the mom of two didn’t wear her seatbelt that time.
On the other hand, Epper said that if Prince Charles devoted himself to Princess Diana and didn’t have an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom may still be alive. But Princess Diana was aware that Prince Charles and Camilla were having an affair even before she tied the knot with the future king.
Michael Woodington, an accountant, came to Prince Charles’ defense by saying that he cannot solely be blamed for the fallout of his marriage to the Princess of Wales. The royal fan also said that Princess Diana had a difficult life even before she became a member of the royal family.
“Diana’s death was a tragic accident which could have been avoided on several levels,” he said. “There should have been a sober driver, the passengers should have used seatbelts and the press should have backed off. There is nothing Charles could have done and even if Charles had been the perfect husband, it is doubtful the marriage would have lasted anyway due to Diana’s actions,” he added.
But Eileen Wood, a real estate assistant, sarcastically said that Prince Charles is responsible for Princess Diana’s death. She joked about Prince Charles planning Princess Diana’s night out from the time that she asked Al Fayed to hang out with her up to the time that her Mercedes crashed in the tunnel.
