Warriors Try To Snap Seven-Game Win Streak Of Celtics On Thursday

The Boston Celtics are on a roll and will try to extend their winning streak further when they host the Golden State Warriors on Thursday, Jan. 19.

It will be a battle of two teams coming off wins with the Cs coming off a win over the Charlotte Hornets. The Warriors, on the other hand, are coming off a 127-118 win over the Washington Wizards.

In their head-to-head matchup this season, the Warriors have the upper hand following their 123-107 win over Boston in December.

Against the Wizards, Steph Curry and Jordan Poole led the way with 41 and 32 points respectively. Draymond Green added 17 points, 10 assists and six rebounds.

“I thought that late surge was great,” Green said. “At times, I thought we were doing a pretty good job and it wasn’t falling our way. They were hitting crazy shots. But we stuck with it.”

The Warriors hold an offensive rating of 113, 15th in the NBA. On the defensive end, they boast a 113.4 defensive rating which is 19th in the league.

For the Celtics, another win could be within their grasp as they try to extend their winning run to eight games.

Against the Hornets, Jayson Tatum exploded for 51 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Derrick White added 19 points and eight assists in that win as well.

“He didn't settle for shots,” Mazzulla said. “He got catch-and-shoots, he got off the dribbles, he got layups. The other piece of that is the humility of our team to really work with him to get those 51 points."

The Celtics lead the league in offensive rating with 117.8. Defensively, they are sixth overall with 111.2.

The Celtics are -7 spread favorites to win over the Warriors who are at +7. The Moneyline for this game is -233 for Boston and +165 for Golden State.
