Alfonso 'N', a prominent voice actor known for bringing iconic characters like Shrek and Bugs Bunny to life to the Latin American markets, is facing a serious legal battle after being detained on charges of aggravated sexual abuse. The Mexico City Attorney General's Office announced Monday that a preventive detention order has been imposed against the actor, who is accused of sexually abusing one of his students in 2022.

Alfonso 'N' has publicly denied the allegations. In a video interview circulating on social media, he argued that the accusations stem from misunderstandings and falsehoods. The actor also mentioned facing a commission from the National Association of Actors (ANDA) that he claims has unjustly targeted him, likening their actions to those of the Inquisition.

The case against Alfonso 'N'

"There's a commission in ANDA, a gender commission, that has taken it upon themselves to accuse everyone of sexual harassment and assault, and I'm one of those accused," Alfonso 'N' stated in a video posted on social media. He went on to allege that the father of his accuser, who is also her lawyer, has been spreading lies about him, including claims that he touched the young woman inappropriately during a class.

Alfonso 'N' also claimed to have been threatened by the accuser's father, who allegedly told him that he knew where he lived and had him "under surveillance." Despite these allegations, the actor claims he's innocent, dismissing the accusations as a "pack of lies."

During the court hearing to enforce the arrest warrant, the public prosecutor formally charged Alfonso 'N' with aggravated sexual abuse. The defense requested additional time to prepare their case, which was granted, but the court ruled that the actor must remain in custody under preventive detention until the next hearing. The Mexico City Attorney General's Office has yet to announce when the hearing will continue.

The allegations

The allegations against Alfonso 'N' first came to light when a former student accused him of inappropriate behavior during a voice-over class in Mexico City's Cuauhtémoc borough. According to the investigation, Alfonso 'N' allegedly engaged in inappropriate touching while giving a class in a private apartment. The actor, who also works as a voice-over coach, was arrested last Saturday in the Peñón de los Baños neighborhood of Venustiano Carranza by detectives from the Investigative Police (PDI).

As the legal proceedings unfold, more troubling details have emerged, further complicating the actor's situation. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), a user shared what she claims are private messages exchanged with Alfonso 'N'. The young woman, who initially contacted the actor while searching for a job as his assistant, alleges that the conversation quickly took a troubling turn.

According to her account, Alfonso 'N' asked her personal questions unrelated to the job, including whether she had a partner and if she could travel. The situation escalated when he requested a "full-body photo" to be taken immediately. After she complied, sending an older photo instead, Alfonso 'N' responded with a simple "like" and a promise to be in touch, calling her "beautiful." The woman's post has since gone viral, adding fuel to the fire of accusations against the actor. She claims that she now understands the request for a full-body photo was likely an inappropriate advance, noting that Alfonso 'N' never followed up on the job offer.
