An actor on "Virgin River" said is "grieving the loss" of his mother and her husband after they were found murdered in France.

Dawn Searle, the mother of Scottish actor Callum Kerr, who plays "Everett" on the Netflix series, and her husband Andrew were found dead on Thursday at their country house in the French village of Les Pesquiès, People reported.

The mayor of a nearby town said their deaths were "clearly a homicide," the Scotsman reported, citing French media.

"At this time, Callum Kerr and Amanda Kerr are grieving the loss of their mother, Dawn Searle (nee Smith, Kerr), while Tom Searle and Ella Searle are mourning the loss of their father, Andrew Searle," a statement on Kerr's Facebook page said.

"No family member is available for media interviews or comments. We kindly request that their privacy be respected during this difficult period. We will provide updates as appropriate. Thank you for understanding," it said.

The Scotsman, citing media outlets in France, said police believe the couple may have been killed during a break-in.

Dawn Seale's naked body was found outside the home and suffered from head wounds and pieces of her jewelry were littered around her, neighbors told The Telegraph.

Kerr, 30, walked his mother down the aisle when she married Andrew Searle in France in 2023, the BBC reported.

At the time, Kerr wrote on social media: "Not many people can say they walked their own mother down the aisle. What a pleasure. I love you mum."
