Video footage shows the moment when a passenger jet with 62 passengers and five crew members crashed into the ground.

The Embraer passenger jet crash site is near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan.

The distressing footage, uploaded by Reuters on X, showed the crash and subsequent fire that erupted after Azerbaijan Airlines flight J2-8243 plunged from the sky with locals attempting to save survivors.

According to officials, 38 people were killed in the crash, after the flight was diverted from an area of Russia that Moscow recently defended against drone attacks by the Ukrainians, reported Reuters. Some insiders are speculating that the crash may have been caused by a bird strike or GPS interference.
