Once again the internet proves that nothing is ever forgotten, as an old video showing Bill Cosby aggressively flirting with Colombian star Sofía Vergara during a show has resurfaced online.
The experience was so unpleasant that, despite it being her first appearance on a late-night U.S. television show, Vergara decided to get up and leave.
The incident occurred in 2003 when she was just starting her career and was relatively unknown in Hollywood. At the time, she was promoting the film 'Chasing Papi' and appeared on 'The Late Show,' where Cosby was serving as a guest host, filling in for David Letterman, sick at the time.
During the 10-minute interview, Cosby sat beside a visibly uncomfortable Vergara, whispering phrases such as, "Men look at you and think only of sin" and "You make me feel young again. You make me feel very excited. Look at me."
Sofía Vergara's response
Rather than acknowledging Cosby's advances, Vergara responded with sharp humor. "But don't die right here, please!" she quipped, her irritation evident.
A surprised Cosby replied, "I'm not dying!"
"This is my first time on American TV. Don't die here!" she repeated.
Vergara then joked about how his sudden death might boost her fame: "But if you die, maybe I'll be more famous. Tomorrow, everyone will know me: 'Bill Cosby died interviewing Sofía Vergara,'" she said, laughing.
Cosby persisted, complimenting her outfit: "What you have on tonight is wonderful. This is wonderful. When you walked out, many people became attentive."
"This is too sexy. I'm leaving," she declared.
Thanks to Cosby, Vergara's first experience on American television turned into an uncomfortable memory she likely wishes to forget. The conversation drew heavy criticism from the media, and Cosby's behavior remains infamous.

Since then, Bill Cosby—once revered as "America's Dad" for his hit sitcom 'The Cosby Show'—has faced numerous sexual assault allegations dating back to the 1960s. In 2018 he was convicted of aggravated sexual assault against Andrea Constand and sentenced to prison.
However, in June 2021, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his conviction due to procedural violations, leading to his release. Despite this, Cosby continues to face legal battles. In 2022, he was found liable in a civil case and ordered to pay $500,000 in damages. Additionally, in 2023, nine women in Nevada filed new sexual assault lawsuits against him. Although he is no longer in prison, the accusations and legal actions against him persist.
