It is the fifth protest in the month of April so far, and Venezuelan National Police keep clashing in the streets with protesters opposed to the government of President Nicolás Maduro. According to the local press of that Nation, the confrontations had a higher than normal tone, the police threw twice the bombs, the same were stronger and not only were thrown by land, also the authorities opted for the use of helicopters.
The military was reinforced by a motorized equipment that immediately activated the bombs to disperse the demonstrators. Among the crowd was singer Nacho, a former member of the duo "Chino & Nacho," who was conducting a march peacefully, when the police began to launch tear gas.
The impact of the gases was so strong that there was a wave of fainting in the middle of the street, but people barely recovered, returned to protest. "Repression is not a media invention. I'm here to prove it," said the singer with irritated eyes. "There are citizens in the street crying for freedom," added the reggaeton singer, whose real name is Miguel Ignacio Mendoza.
Nacho declared himself opponent of the government of Maduro in the 2015 and since then has been participate in acts of the opposition.
The famous Venezuelan singer tried to approach the police in peace, when he was immediately accused of wanting to turn the protest into a "show" for publicity. "I was walking and they threw tear gas," the singer-songwriter said. "If people are claiming their rights, they have to do it in peace. We didn't came to destroy the country, which the government has already destroyed enough," he told to his detractors.
Nacho, who is based in Miami, traveled to Caracas to participate in the march. This is not the first time the singer has been involved in a controversy, in February 2016, he complained that the immigration authority had canceled his passport when he entered Venezuela.
