Just two days after basketball legend Kobe Bryant’s death in a helicopter crash, that also killed his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant, graphic images of the victims’ remains and the debris field were being shared.

While the Sheriff’s Department is looking into the matter, late Kobe Bryant’s wife, Vanessa Bryant is “absolutely devastated” over the issue and, as per her lawyer, is demanding the “harshest possible discipline” for the “unspeakable violation of human decency.”

Her attorney, Gary Robb, has shared that Vanessa Bryant, 37, had met with Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva in person. She requested that the January 26 crash scene that killed her husband, daughter, and many others should be declared a no-fly zone in order to keep those trying to get their hands on pictures from the site.

“This was of critical importance to her as she desired to protect the dignity of all the victims, and their families,” Robb said in his statement, adding that the sheriff “assured us all measures would be put in place.”

But now, evidently, pictures of the crash are being shared, which Robb called “inexcusable and deplorable” as it means that first responders, instead of doing their job, were sharing graphic images of the scene. Stressing that “first responders should be trustworthy”, Robbs has demanded that the ones who are responsible should be named and must undergo a full investigation by Internal Affairs.

“This is an unspeakable violation of human decency, respect, and of the privacy rights of the victims and their families,” he insisted in his statement. “We are demanding that those responsible for these alleged actions face the harshest possible discipline and that their identities be brought to light, to ensure that the photos are not further disseminated.”

Apparently, the matter was exposed online by a whistleblower “who filed an online complaint exposing these acts of injustice” and to whom Bryant is “grateful” for their “choice to protect human dignity.”

Kobe Bryant had been on his way to a youth basketball game in Thousand Oaks when his helicopter crashed after colliding with a Calabasas hillside amid dense fog. Along with the 41-year-old NBA legend, 41, his daughter, Gianna, and seven others — Christina Mauser, Payton, Sarah Chester, John, Keri and Alyssa Altobelli as well as the pilot Ara Zobayan also died in the crash.
