The Utah Jazz may be far from done as far as wheeling and dealing for the coming NBA season. After trading away Rudy Gobert and Mitchell Donovan, it appears that other vets on the squad are on their way out.
According to Tony Jones of The Athletic, Utah is also awaiting offers for Bojan Bogdanovic, Mike Conley, Malik Beasley and Jordan Clarkson.
The Jazz are allegedly looking for a first-round pick and one potential trade partner is the Los Angeles Lakers. The purple and gold have been linked to Bogdanovic, something reported by USA Today and the Denver Post.
Considering the Lakers have yet to find a taker for Russell Westbrook, this could make sense. But the key element here would be the Lakers' future draft picks. Los Angeles made it clear that they will only consider doing so if the exchange is sensible.
Beyond the Lakers, there will be other NBA teams joining the fray. None have been mentioned so far but all that could change in the coming weeks.
This comes not long after the surprise exit of Mitchell, traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers for a huge haul that includes Collin Sexton, Lauri Markkanen, Ochai Agbaji and five future picks.
Combining the deal that the Jazz got from the Minnesota Timberwolves for Gobert, Utah now has seven first-round picks, three pick-swaps and two players that were selected in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft.
With the Jazz’s one-two punch in Gobert and Mitchell gone, it appears Utah may be in for some rough times this 2022-23 season. After impressing the past years, the Jazz may find it tough to maintain that with most of its stars, traded and those speculated, headed out the door.
For the Cavs, the addition of Mitchell hints that they want to make some noise this coming NBA season. With a new core at his disposal, coach J.B. Bickerstaff will be in for an interesting season with the likes of Darius Garland, Kevin Love, Jarrett Allen and Caris LeVert at his disposal.
