Usher Raymond V, son of Grammy-winning R&B artist Usher, caused quite a scare when the 5-year-old fell into the pool at his family's Atlanta home. The 5-year-old nearly drowned Monday afternoon when he attempted to fish a toy out of the pool. He was taken to intensive care after spending a few moments in the water, the New York Daily News reported. Rena Odin, the boy's aunt, and a maid tried to get the little boy out of the water and were unsuccessful until a pair of workmen managed to retrieve him, authorities said.

The boy was given CPR and paramedics later told the 911 dispatcher that the boy had drowned but was now "conscious, alert and breathing" just before 4 p.m., Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos said about the incident. Rescuers took the boy to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite, where he is expected to make a full recovery.

Usher Raymond V is one of two sons of Usher and Tameka Foster, who divorced in 2007. Usher was rewarded custody of the sons last year. Foster allegedly filed legal documents for emergency custody as of Tuesday, asserting that the singer was creating a dangerous environment for the boys. This incident occurred nearly a year after Usher's 11-year-old stepson, Kile Glover, was killed in a boating accident. He was run over in Lake Lanier by a jet ski.
