American Airlines can’t catch a break. After arresting a 14-year-old Dutch girl for posing as a terrorist and sending a threat via Twitter, US Airways tweets a pornographic picture as a reply to one of their customer’s tweets. American Airlines, which is in the process of merging with US Airways, released an apology for the incident. "We apologize for the inappropriate image we recently shared in a Twitter response," spokesman Matt Miller told USA Today.

"Our investigation has determined that the image was initially posted to our Twitter feed by another user. We captured the tweet to flag it as inappropriate. Unfortunately the image was inadvertently included in a response to a customer." The photo featured a naked woman lying on a bed with a toy plane between her legs. The unsettling image was sent when US Airways was responding to customer complaints on their social media account, as they tend to do.

The photo was sent with the following message: “We welcome feedback, Elle. If your travel is complete, you can detail it here for review and follow-up.” However, instead of a link matching the description, they posted a link to the disturbing photo. Once they realized their mistake, US Airways took the tweet down and issued an apology on the same platform: "We apologize for an inappropriate image recently shared as a link in one of our responses. We've removed the tweet and are investigating."
