God Wrongfully Impregnated Teenage Mary Without Consent Says Minnesota Professor pixabay

A lecturer from the Covenant University Ota was arrested on March 11 for the alleged rape of a teenage student. Dr. Stephen Ukenna, 41, was apprehended following a complaint lodged at the Ota Area Command by the 17-year-old girl’s parents.

According to the victim’s parents, their daughter was invited by Ukenna to his office under the pretense of planning a surprise birthday party for her close friend.

The police were informed by the girl’s parents who said their daughter had called them from the school and told them about the incident.

Ogun police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi said that upon arriving at Ukenna’s office, the girl was taken by surprise when he reportedly grabbed and seized her as “ the lecturer locked the office door and forcefully had sex with her on the table in his office”.

The Area Commander Ota, ACP Muyideen Obe immediately deployed his team to the school and promptly arrested Ukenna.

The Nation Online reported that following an investigation into the case, the state police said that the CU Business Management lecturer admitted to the offense he committed on the young girl but was unable to give any reason or motivation for his actions.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the State CIID for further investigation and diligent prosecution.

If found guilty, the university lecturer could spend up to 14 years in prison, depending on the number of charges against him, the BBC said.
