The Russia-Ukraine war continues and an update from the United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defense claims that Moscow has suffered great losses as far as its ground forces are concerned.
In the update, the Russian campaign in the East of Ukraine has reportedly lost momentum and is allegedly behind schedule.
“Russian forces are increasingly constrained by degraded enabling capabilities, continued low morale and reduced combat effectiveness. Many of these capabilities cannot be quickly replaced or reconstituted, and are likely to continue to hinder Russian operations in Ukraine,” read one of the points of the Ministry of Defense.
Tied to the alleged setback, intelligence reports claim that Russia is unlikely to accelerate its rate of advancement over the next 30 days.
This comes after Ukraine Interior Ministry adviser Vadim Denisenko told a TV network that Kyiv troops in the region have almost reached the border with Russia.
In a social media post, the Ukraine Defense Ministry says that the 227th Battalion of the 127th Brigade of Ukraine's Territorial Defence Forces had reached the border with Russia, claiming “Together to victory!”
Further, Ukraine’s ex-Ambassador to Russia showed a video showing Ukrainian soldiers reaching the Ukraine-Russia border.
After translation, the caption of the post read: “Mr. President, we reached Ukraine's state border with the enemy state. Mr. President, we made it! Glory to #Ukraine! Glory to Heroes!”
For now, military assistance will continue for as long as Ukraine needs it, Germany’s Annalena Baerbock said.
"Ukraine can win this war. Ukrainians are bravely defending their homeland," NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg stated.
These updates were shared with local officials over in Ukraine’s second city of Kharkiv in the north claiming that Russian troops were withdrawing from the region following counter-attacks made by Ukraine.
In a report by Reuters, Russian leader Vladimir Putin allegedly appeared to climb down on Monday from Russia's objections to Sweden and Finland joining NATO. Moscow reportedly had no issues with them entering the U.S.-led military alliance they now aim to join in reaction to his invasion of Ukraine.
