The long wait is over.
Former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey will be returning to the octagon at UFC 207. UFC President Dana White made the announcement on Fox Sports 1 while making a guest appearance on “The Herd” with host Colin Cowherd.
Rousey will be fighting Amanda Nunes on Dec. 30 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Rousey hasn’t fought since she lost her only match at the UFC 193, against Holly Holmes. That fight was on Nov. 15, and many UFC experts are wondering if Rousey will be ready to go after such a long period off.
Nunes defeated Miesha Tate in her last fight at UFC 200 to win the UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship. The 28-year-old Brazilian born fighter won the title via submission. Nunes has a career record of 13-4 in UFC, and this will be the first time she and Rousey square off against one another. Nunes and Rousey are almost identical in height and weight.
Nunes’ last loss came in 2014 against Cat Zingano when she was TKO’d at the UFC 178.
