A fatal shootout occurred early on Wednesday morning near Universal Studios in Rolando, Florida. The FBI was involved in the shootout with a now deceased man who reportedly had ties to the older brother suspected in last month's deadly terrorist bombing at the Boston Marathon.

According to Jon Miller, a former FBI assistant director, the man who fatally shot was identified as Ibrahim Todashev. Miller continued with his insight on "CBS This Morning" reporting Todashev was friends with Tamerlan Tsarnaev, a suspect in the attack that killed three people and injured more than 260 others. However the FBI has not yet commented on the reported friendship between Tsarnaev and Todashev, nor have they officially released the victim's name.

WHO IS TAMERLAN TSARNAEV?

According to the Orlando Sentinel a friend of Todashev's, claims that the two men became friends because they were both mixed martial arts boxers.

FBI agents went to Todashev's apartment complex in Florida after midnight on early Wednesday morning with the intent to question him. Miller reported that the FBI was pursuing Todashev following Tsarnaev's identification as a suspect in the Boston bombings.

"He had been interviewed along with a number of other people in the apartment complex, but the interest in him was higher because of a couple of factors: He was in contact with Tamerlan Tsarnaev. He had been to Boston to visit him, and he was planning a trip to Chechnya," Miller said.

WFTV reporter Steve Barrett interviewed a man who claimed to be the victim's friend. The friend identified himself as Khusen Taramov. He also confirmed that Todashev was planning on taking a trip to New York and then leaving from there to return home to Chechnya.

"He had a ticket from New York, [and] from there, he was going to go back home [to Chechnya]. They were pushing him, saying, 'Stay, don't leave.' They said, 'We want to interview you one last time and talk to you a last time.' And he decided to stay, and today's interview was supposed to be the last time, and they said they were going to leave him alone."

BOSTON BOMBING UPDATES

While his friend, Taramov, claims the FBI was asking to victim to stay in the US for interviews, according to CBS News the FBI went to the apartment complex overnight to question him after indications lead them to believe that Todashev had canceled his trip back to Chechnya.

Obviously during the meeting with FBI and Todashev something went wrong.

The FBI released a brief statement on Wednesday, "We are currently responding to a shooting incident involving an FBI special agent. The incident occurred in Orlando Florida. The agent encountered the suspect while conducting official duties. The suspect is deceased. We do not have any further details at this time. We expect to have more information later this morning."
