Trump Pal Pokes Fun at Ex-President's Special Request to Be Served Nothing But Fast Food at Football Game

An Alabama businessman is poking fun at Donald Trump's request to be served nothing but fast food after inviting the former president to the Alabama vs. Georgia football game.

Ric Mayers invited Trump to Saturday's game in Tuscaloosa, and was in charge of getting Trump and his guests' tickets and their requested food.

"I like a good steak, but President Trump's [food preferences] are as mundane as it gets," Mayers told AL.com.

He told the outlet that Trump ordered two Filet-O-Fish sandwiches with cheese from McDonald's, stadium hotdogs, Domino's pizza and Diet Coke. State GOP officials said that Trump has previously requested McDonald's while visiting Alabama.

Trump previously told CNN's Anderson Cooper in a 2016 town hall that his favorite thing to order from McDonald's was the fish sandwich, adding that he loved to eat fast food on the go because he liked "cleanliness."

During his presidency when Trump hosted college football champions at the White House in 2019, he fed the Clemson Tigers McDonald's, Wendy's and Burger King, as reported by AL.com. Months later he fed the Football Championship Subdivision champions, the North Dakota State Bison, Big Macs and Chick-fil-A sandwiches, as reported by USA Today.

"I said, 'It will be the biggest game of the year and he's going to walk in there to 100,000 fans screaming, 'Trump, Trump, Trump' or 'Fight, Fight, Fight,''' Mayers told AL.com. "It will be amazing to have that experience."

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer told AL.com that while the team's main focus is on the game and securing the win, he said it would be "cool" to have more people be apart of the atmosphere.

"I'm sure there's going to be a lot of celebrity-type people here, people that want to come be a part of what's happening on gameday," DeBoer told AL.com. "It's going to be, everyone's watching. So it'd be great to have everyone who wants to come watch be here.
