Trump Official Defended for Wearing Alleged Rolex Watch in Video With Migrants at El Salvador Prison: 'What's Wrong With Wealth?'

MAGA supporters and conservatives have defended Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem after she was wearing what some allege to be a Rolex worth thousands while visiting an El Salvadoran prison camp.

Noem filmed a video at the camp in which she can be seen standing in front of dozens of incarcerated migrants, largely Venezuelan nationals, who are facing deportation.

"I also want everybody to know, if you come to our country illegally, this is one of the consequences you can face. First of all, do not come to our country illegally. You will be removed and you will be prosecuted. Know that this facility is one of the tools in our toolkit that we will use," Noem said in the video.

Eagle-eyed viewers spotted the gold watch on Noem's wrist, leading some to claim it could be a Rolex worth nearly $60,000.

"It appears that Kristi Noem may have worn a $60K Rolex during her visit to the El Salvadoran prison camp today," MeidasTouch Network posted to X.

While some criticized Noem for accessorizing so extravagantly to visit a detention camp, supporters of the Trump administration rushed to her defense, stating that the former South Dakota governor should be allowed to wear whatever she chooses.

"What is wrong with having wealth?" one user questioned.

"She's successful. I'm sure that pissed you nerds off," wrote another.

"And???? So what? Is it against the law to own nice things?" wrote a third.

"Good for her! She should have worn a diamond tiara while she explained how were cleaning up the democrats pro-criminal horror show. Cry somewhere else," said a fourth.

Critics have voiced concerns about how Noem was able to afford such an expensive item on a politician's salary. However, others reiterated that it has not been confirmed that the watch is in fact a Rolex, and suggested it could be a dupe or another brand instead.
