Make America Great Again (MAGA) supporters seem incredibly averse to the news that former President Donald Trump recently received his booster vaccination shot against COVID-19.
His booster announcement came during Sunday’s final stop on the lackluster “History Tour,” which he co-headlined with disgraced former Fox News star Bill O’Reilly. Previously, Trump had promised the tour would attract “big crowds."
During the event, the former President reportedly told the middling MAGA crowd that his administration developed the COVID-19 vaccines under the "historic" Operation Warp Speed. He would also take personal credit for saving “tens of millions of lives” around the globe.
“We should take credit for it, and you play right into their hands [when you doubt it],” he said.
Vaccine hesitancy among Trump supporters saw county constituents that voted heavily for him in 2020 to be "nearly three times as likely to die from COVID-19 as those who live in areas that went for now-President Biden” since May 2021.
According to the Daily Beast, it is also a factor for the low vaccine turnout in those counties.
While gloating over his administration’s alleged role in vaccine development, Trump simultaneously expressed his opposition to vaccine mandates, which then drew cheers from the MAGA attendees. “If you don’t want to take it, you shouldn’t be forced to take it, no mandates,” he lectured the crowd.
However, the cheers would be followed by boos and jeers when both he and O’Reilly confirmed they were fully vaccinated and boosted.
Meanwhile, on Monday, Donald slapped New York State Attorney General Letitia James with a lawsuit in his latest attempt to disrupt the civil investigation into potential fraud inside the Trump Organization. He is alleging that James’ investigation violates his constitutional rights.
“Since taking office, she has tirelessly bombarded him, his family, and his business, Trump Organization LLC, with unwarranted subpoenas in a bitter crusade to ‘take on’ the President,” according to the lawsuit.
Trump further lashed out at James in the paperwork, insinuating that the Attorney General is attempting to hold him to account for any alleged wrongdoing.
“Her mission is guided solely by political animus and a desire to harass, intimidate, and retaliate against a private citizen who she views as a political opponent,” it stated.
Throughout his presidency from 2017 to 2021, Trump had refused to reveal his tax returns and repeatedly attacked James during her investigation into his business dealings.
Most recently, the Republican accused James of “prosecutorial misconduct” amid reports that she was seeking a deposition from Trump at the start of 2022, the BBC noted.
