Former President Donald Trump claimed during Tuesday's roundtable in Pennsylvania that he has done more for the island than any other president.

The statement came after an attendee at a roundtable Trump held in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, wanted to let the Republican presidential candidate know that the people of Puerto Rico stand with him despite a racist comment made by a comedian during Sunday's rally at Madison Square Garden. Concretely, Tony Hinchcliffe, host of famous comedy podcast "Kill Tony," called Puerto Rico a "floating island of garbage," prompting fierce backlash from high-profile Puerto Ricans, Democrats and even some Republicans, including the Trump campaign.

Trump thanked the woman before claiming he helped the country "through a lot of bad storms."

"I think no president has done more for Puerto Rico than I have," he added before turning over the microphone.

His presidential track record proved otherwise, considering it has been confirmed Trump withheld $20 billion in aid to Puerto Rico in 2017 in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, which killed 2,975 people in the island, making it one of the deadliest U.S. natural disasters in a century. He also infamously threw paper towels during a visit to the island to oversee the distribution of aid.
