President Donald Trump took to social media to state that protestors at a town hall hosted in North Carolina by a Republican legislator were "paid agitators" who were there to disrupt the event.
Trump took to his social media app, Truth Social, to state that a town hall event hosted by Rep. Chuck Edwards was disrupted by "Radical Left Lunatics, mostly Democrats."
"I just watched our GREAT Republican Congressman from North Carolina, CHUCK EDWARDS, hold a Town Hall in Asheville. He was a total gentleman, but the room was "littered" with Radical Left Lunatics, mostly Democrats, and all they did was scream, shout and use filthy language," he wrote.
"They were largely paid agitators, with fake signs and slogans, and were only there to make TROUBLE! Chuck put up with it, and was WONDERFUL! Remember, BIDEN AND HIS FEMA DID NOTHING FOR NORTH CAROLINA and the terrible hurricane which did so much damage. As soon as I got to office, we worked miracles, with ZERO HELP FROM THE DEMS. WE HAVE BEEN PRAISED FOR THE JOB THAT WE DID, AND THE DEMOCRATS HAVE BEEN SCORNED," the President continued.
"Also remember, you have a Democrat Governor who is supposed to be doing the work that Chuck, and other Republicans, are doing. Don't let infiltrated Town Halls fool you. It the only thing the Dems know how to do. Great Job Chuck!!!" he concluded.
Edwards hosted the event in Asheville, North Carolina. While the event started smoothly, it quickly devolved as constituents began heckling Edwards for supporting the GOP's House Budget Resolution.

TOWN HALL: *BOOOOOOOO!* pic.twitter.com/cWyIfWVv1y
"Are you afraid of Trump?" one constituent asked. "Stop selling yourself," another yelled out.
"Do you represent all citizens, even though they may not have voted for you? Or do you work for Donald Trump?" one person questioned.
"I represent all the citizens," Edwards replied.
"What do you plan to do to make sure North Carolina does not get taken over by dictatorship and fascism?" another attendee asked.
"It sounds like there's a little bias in that question," Edwards said, eliciting a chorus of boos. "We are upholding the Constitution."
The Republican National Committee has advised Republican lawmakers across the nation not to host town hall meetings due to backlash lawmakers have been receiving from constituents.
