Donald Trump recently made a claim that Fox News employees helped him write jokes for a high-profile charity event, sparking controversy as the network immediately denied any involvement, according to a report.

The claim happened after the former President's appearance at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner, better known as the Al Smith Dinner. The annual charity event, held in New York City, is known for guests sharing speeches with lighthearted humor while trying to raise funds for Catholic charities that support children in the state.

There, Trump's speech became awkward as he made jarring insults and used profanities in front of priests.

"We have someone in the White House who can barely talk, barely put together two coherent sentences, who seems to have mental faculties of a child, is a person that has no intelligence whatsoever—but enough about Kamala Harris," Trump said.

He also went on to insult Democratic Vice Presidential candidate, Tim Walz.

"I used to think the Democrats were crazy for saying men have periods, but then I met Tim Walz," Trump said.

Following the speech, Trump participated in an interview on an episode of "Fox & Friend," where he mentioned that "a couple of people from Fox" contributed to his jokes.

"I shouldn't say that, but they wrote some jokes, and for the most part, I didn't like any of them, right," Trump added.

Fox News promptly responded by firmly denying Trump's claims, stating that no one employed by Fox in any capacity helped him write the jokes.

"FOX News confirmed that no employee or freelancer wrote the jokes," the network said.
