In May 2015, we broke the news that Angelique Boyer will probably take the leading role in "Tres Veces Ana," the remake of the late '90s telenovela "Lazos De Amor." Boyer, who throughout her trajectory has done an impeccable job as both a villain and good girl, was being considered to take the role that Lucero once took in the 1995 classic TV hit. Michelle Renaud was also another favorite for the lead.
Now, with the U.S. debut of "Tres Veces Ana" just around the corner, Boyer feels blessed to have nabbed the challenging leading role and considers it the "dream come true" of any actress. "I feel the most fortunate out of all the actresses to be part of this project, it's the dream of all actresses," she told Latin Times, adding that any of her colleagues would have also done an amazing role.
The forthcoming novela, which already premiered in Mexico, is an adaptation of the '90s mega hit novela "Lazos de Amor" starring Lucero. However, Boyer clarified that the plot was inspired by the classic telenovela, but is very different. "Tres Veces Ana" tells the story of triplets who become orphans after an accident. One of them gets lost and doesn't reunite with them until years later. Boyer plays the leading roles named Ana Laura, Ana Lucía and Ana Leticia.
Although the three sisters have different lives and personalities, Boyer says she can identify with all the three. "I can't pick one or the other because I'm still discovering these characters," she said. "I have to be solidarity with the three and love them each," she added.
Jumping on board the project is Argentine actor and novio Sebastian Rulli, who takes the leading male actor role of Santiago and Marcelo. Although the power couple has previously worked together in telenovelas, this is the first time they debut as official boyfriend and girlfriend. For Boyer, she could not have asked for a better co-star.
"He's the best. He's always been an excellent co-worker and friend," she said, saying it is a good support that her partner is also an actor and understands her career. "We miss each other because we don't see each other all the time, but we're happy to be in this project together. He supports me and I support him," she added.
Other actors who will be part of the production include Susana Dosamantes, Otto Sirgo, Ana Bertha Espín, Olivia Bucio, Nuria Bages, Leticia Calderón, Laisha Wilkins, Carlos de la Mota, Mónika Sánchez, Ramiro Fumazoni and many more.
“Tres Veces Ana" will make its U.S. premiere on May 23 at 10 p.m. on Univision Network.
