Residents of an English town were left in shock after a road marking was misspelled with an "embarrassing" typo.
While workers appeared to have been going for a "keep clear" sign, they ended up painting the words "ceep klear" on a road in Cotswold, as reported by GloucestershireLive.
A photo of the misspelled sign was shared to social media, where dozens of users found themselves shaking their heads in embarrassment.
"Oh god, nooooo," one user tweeted. "You had one job," another user commented. "This in my town, Cirencester, a tad embarrassing," one user wrote.
Others had a laugh over the photo, mocking the spelling with their own jokes.
"Glad you kleared that up, I was konphused," one person tweeted. "It's klear as day to me," another user joked.
"That just about sums up the state of this country," one user laughed.
Cotswold District Council leader Joe Harris told the Wilts and Gloucester Standard that the marking "may be contractors having a bit of a laugh or an honest mistake."
A spokesperson for Wales & West Utilities told GloucesterLive that the incident happened after workers finished upgrading the town's gas network. The sign has since been repainted with the correct spelling.
