The family of a Georgia man is demanding answers after he was discovered severely burned in the woods of DeKalb County, later succumbing to his injuries at a hospital.
On November 16, 32-year-old Deshawn Manuel, a father of five who was described as a devoted family man, was found severely burned in a wooded area off Flat Shoals Road, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.
Manuel was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital's burn unit, but was later pronounced dead.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, and the family was not notified until a month later due to complications in identifying his remains.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of Manuel's death or whether foul play was involved.
His family, frustrated by the lack of information and perceived delays in investigation, held a memorial near the site where he was found.
Meanwhile, they are raising funds to transport Manuel's remains to Mississippi for burial and to provide support for his children.
