Mexico City Residents Disapprove Of Teacher Protests Blocking Streets Against Education Reform, Says Survey
Protesters from two teachers’ groups descended on Mexico City last week, blocking lawmakers’ access to a congressional building and shutting down the highway to the airport. A large majority of the capital’s residents said in a telephone survey carried out by newspaper El Universal that they don’t think the protests should be permitted and that authorities have mishandled them.
