Popular Twitch streamer Hasan Piker was banned from the streaming platform after suggesting Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) should be killed for defrauding Medicare and Medicaid.
While discussing House Speaker Mike Johnson's comments claiming the Medicaid program has $50 billion in fraud, the 33-year-old streamer suggested politicians, including Johnson, go after people such as Scott, whose company Columbia/HCA was fined $1.7 billion in 2004 for defrauding Medicare recipients and military families out of millions of dollars, per The Miami Herald.
"That fraud is not coming from individuals. It's coming from providers. They're not tackling providers. They're not actually going after, like, false billing," Piker stated during a recent Twitch stream. "They are trying to cut recipients. It is not happening at the point of recipients."

"If you cared about Medicare fraud or Medicaid fraud, you would kill Rick Scott. You wouldn't make Rick Scott, former governor of Florida Rick Scott," Piker continued.
"The reason why I'm saying if you cared about Medicare or Medicaid fraud, you would kill Rick Scott, is because, and not make him a prominent part of the Republican party, is because he to this day is still also known as committing the largest Medicare fraud in U.S. history," Piker added, in a viral clip circulating across social media.
After news of his ban spread on Monday, Piker took to X to apologize.
"im sorry! ill choose my words carefully next time & say 'if mike johnson cares abt medicare fraud (since he wants to cut 800m from medicaid/medicare) he'd call for MAX PUNISHMENT for current fl gop senator/former gov rick scott- who has done the most medicare fraud in us history!" Piker clarified.

Piker is a controversial left-wing political commentator on Twitch and YouTube. He started his wildly successful career on The Young Turks, a progressive news network co-founded by his uncle, Cenk Uygur, an equally controversial commentator.
It is unclear when Piker's ban will be lifted, but this isn't the first time he has violated the platform's rules. According to his Twitch profile, Piker was temporarily banned twice in 2019 and once in both 2021 and 2022.
