Tomas New 'One For One' Mission
The company behind the popular Toms shoes has embarked on a new mission to provide the most basic human need... water. TOMS

Toms, the shoe makers that donate a pair to the needy when you buy a pair, has introduced a new "One For One" initiative. If there is a substance that most people are addicted to more than shoes, it's coffee. The drink has its pros and cons and with the Toms movement we can add another pro to the list. The Toms Roasting Co. will provide a week of clean water to a person in need when you buy a bag of coffee beans. Toms has teamed up with Water For People to help carry out this plan that helps support business development and government investments to create sustainable water sources and solutions for a long-term impact.

An estimated of 1.8 billion people are drinking unsafe water, according to the UNC Water Institute. There are 5 locations that they will concentrate on at first like Malawi and Rwanda in Africa and Guatemala, Honduras and Peru in Latin America. Each region they source from produce a unique flavor and the beans are roasted locally in the U.S. Rwanda roast is sweet in acidity in a medium body with crisp citrus notes that blend into the flavors of red fruits. With its floral aroma and soft lemon hints, apricot and plum, this roast sells for $12.99 a bag. The Malawi roast is known for its full body and smooth taste, it's sweet berry with flavors of chocolate and a citrus marmalade finish.

The Guatemala Roast is produced in Central America with a clean flavor, sweet acidity with a gentle sweetness, subtle floral and fruit notes and lightly spiced. The Carpe Diem Espresso option is an intercontinental effort that features a blend of premium coffee beans from both Rwanda and Guatemala with complex flavors that range from subtly sweet, to nutty, spice, floral and fruity. All bags of beans are on sale for $12.99 and you will have the satisfaction that someone in need will have water for a week. Each of the water solutions are designed to provide access to safe water to every family, school and clinic in a community. What do you think of Toms latest effort?
