Tom Daley, the English Olympic diver, surprised fans when he came out and told everyone he was dating a man. The confession was made via a YouTube video where Daley revealed details on his love life. Who is the guy that made Tom share these feelings? E! News is reporting that the lucky man is Dustin Lance Black, a 39-year-old screenwriter. Black has an Oscar to his credit for his work on "Milk," the 2008 biopic that starred Sean Penn portraying gay rights activist Harvey Milk. The site also reports that back in October Daley and Black were spotted together in Hollywood. Daley confessed that he still fancied girls, but at this moment he was dating a guy and couldn't be happier. "In spring this year, my life changed massively when I met someone and they made me feel so happy, so safe and everything just feels great," the 19-year-old swimmer said. "And that someone is a guy. It did take me by surprise a little bit. It was always in the back of my head that something like that could happen, but it wasn't until spring this year that something just clicked. It felt right and I thought, 'OK,' and my whole world changed there and then." RELATED: Orlando Cruz, Openly Gay Puerto Rican Boxer, Proposes To His Boyfriend Over Facebook [VIDEO]
Tom came out to several of his family members before and the reaction has been "mixed." His grandparents, though, have been supportive on his decision. "We asked him if he was absolutely sure. He’s our first grandson from our son who died," Daley's grandparents said. "We have always been supportive of him and we always will. We’re not old-fashioned, in fact we’re quite liberal. But I do think he’s too young to be making this sort of decision... But we hugged him, we thanked him for coming to see us, and we’ll be seeing him over Christmas. We’ll always be here for Tom."
