Tom Brady walked off the practice field in a bout alongside the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but is expected to be OK. Brady, the New England Patriots star quarterback, suffered a knee injury Wednesday. It is believed the injury is not serious, Fox Sports reported. Coach Bill Belichick did not make any comments regarding the injury after the practice. The injury came after left tackle Nate Solder was pushed into Brady by Tampa Bay defenseman Adrian Clayborn.
'You've always got to stay away from the quarterback,'' Clayborn said. ''You got a guy on his heels and my instinct is to keep going, so that's what I did.''
After falling, Brady grasped his left knee and was escorted off the field with member of the team's athletic staff. Ryan Mallett played with the first defensive unit following Brady's exit. Tim Tebow played with the second team. Brady tore a curciate ligament in his left knee in 2008 season opener and wound up missing the entire season, USA Today reported. He has played every game since then, but it is unclear how this injury will affect him.
''I'm just trying to do my job,'' Mallett said. ''I'm sure Tom will be fine and we'll just go on.''
