How far would you go to look like your favorite celebrity? Toby Sheldon went as far as undergoing plastic surgery. This 33-year-old Los Angeles man reportedly spent his life savings on procedures to look like his 19-year-old idol, Justin Bieber over the past five years. "Once Justin shot to fame his face was everywhere and I all I kept thinking when I saw his picture was, 'I want to look like him,'" Sheldon told the Daily News. He also explained to Closer magazine that it was the Bieb's show-stopping smile that originally became the object of his desire. "It's Justin's smile that gives him his youthful look," he said. "My smile surgery took more than a month to recover from."
However, it all began with hair transplants that cost $8,000. Sheldon, who is a songwriter, took photos of the Canadian singer to his surgeon as an example of that he wanted to look like and spent his first thousands working on his thinning locks. "It took three transplants and a total of $21,000 to accurately lower my hair line, close off my temples and grow back my bangs," he said. After getting Bieber's famous hair style, Sheldon had his features done. His doctor used Botox and Aquamid injections in his face and lips, and after that, the super-fan spent nearly $5,000 on eyelid surgery before undergoing a three part smile surgery.
Sheldon has admitted that he had phobia of aging and not an obsession with Bieber, but more like deep admiration of his features. "By using Justin's charming baby face as my inspiration, I've been able to restructure my entire look to maintain a much more youthful appearance through plastic surgery. I didn't necessarily listen to his music or fawn over him as a celebrity, but his face was just so flawless every change I made was modelled after him," he said. "When I first sought out to look like Justin I only paid attention to specific aspects of his boyish look like his hair and the structure of his face," Sheldon told the Daily Mail.
"But the more I started studying Justin and young people in general it's really their smile that gives them their youthful glow. If you look closely, you'll notice that when younger people just barely have their mouths open they naturally show their top teeth, giving them a sort of natural and effortless smile," he added. So, for $30,000, Toby's plastic surgeon lifted his upper lip, turned out his bottom lip and turned up the corners of his mouth to give him a "perma-smile." Daily Mail reports that he also had liposuction on his chin to smooth out his smile and had the fat from his chin transferred to his hands, lips and under his eyes.
Although he's spent $100,000 in surgeries up to this date, Sheldon says that he's still not done. "I know there is more work to be done in order to make a full transformation into Justin Bieber's doppelganger like a nose job and jaw reduction, which my surgeon has suggested," he said. However, he says he's happy with the results so far. "Between our similar hairstyles, baby faced smile and overall youthful appearance I finally look like Justin Bieber and I couldn't be happier about it."
